Completion of Installation at Greenough School
Posted Thursday, 29 July
The team are just completing a small interpretive installation in the Central Greenough Settlement. Using art-based interpretive techniques, the current project (in the former school house) is the 4th in the series of interpretive projects at the settlement. Mulloway, together with Paul Kloeden have been working with the National Trust (WA) over the past few years, on new ways to present historic sites.
This particular installation incorporates a suspended upturned desk, which references the relationship between colonial Australia and the broader British Empire. At the same time it provides an unexpected experience for visitors who are also encouraged to undertake a selected part of the1898 elementary school bursary exam.
