We take a holistic and integrated approach to our heritage work, and activation is key to long-term conservation goals. These projects are built on well-researched background information providing a thorough understanding of the significance of the place. We have intervened as lightly as possible retaining its industrial character. The playground is a key piece of heritage interpretation – a series of milling based play pieces spewed from the building provide clues to its use. Heritage and play become one in the same. Similarly the Loop Path provides not just exercise opportunities but is an outdoor museum and art gallery. Both of these are underpinned by the performance venue located in the former Flour Shed and the market and other outdoor event spaces.
